Founded in 1990 as Drummond House Developments to acquire and develop residential estates in the South East, the Drummonds Group has grown over the years and expanded its range of activities.

As the demand for low cost housing became more apparent, the company became involved in social housing and other innovative forms of providing homes, later expanding into the rental sector by founding Drummonds Property Rentals. In 2007 the Drummonds Group further expanded its activities in the service sector by establishing Drummonds Medical to provide Healthcare. This was an opportunity to extend the scope of the service and management skills within the group whilst maintaining a strong position in housing.

After a successful three years however the board felt that it was time to refocus on the company’s core business and Drummonds Medical was sold as a going concern to one of the UK’s leading Healthcare plcs. In 2009 Drummonds acquired the business Of Elwes , a long established property letting and management operation and took over two further floors of offices at its Prospect Street headquarters to accommodate the increased business.

Drummonds quickly established a reputation for success and commitment to service dealing with a wide variety of quality accommodation in the Reading and Thames Valley areas. Drummonds now manages and lets hundreds of properties for clients and is an investment advisor to some of the UK’s largest companies and institutions.

Drummonds has been established since 1990 but goes back over forty years. The founder, John Grimes, was a partner in a Chartered Surveyors firm running letting departments in the 1970’s and is a property man to the core. He set up and ran Persimmon Homes (Thames Valley) developing hundreds of homes for this hugely successful Housebuilder plc in the mid eighties.
